Custom MDF/HDF Refiner Segment Sets

Machine-specific rotor and stator segment projects are reviewed as matched engineering definitions—not as universal catalog parts.

Product scope

The initial site intentionally stays narrow.

Rotor segments

Rotating-side segments defined against the applicable mounting and set geometry.

Stator segments

Stationary-side segments defined against the corresponding interface and layout.

Matched segment sets

Rotor/stator relationships are reviewed at set level where the application requires it.

What must be defined

Application identityEquipment position, maker/model as private context, rotor/stator side
Set geometrySegment quantity, layout, direction and matching relationship
MountingOD/ID, thickness, bolt circle, hole geometry, seating and locating features
PatternBar/groove geometry and direction where performance equivalence is relevant
MaterialAlloy family, hardness, heat-treatment and traceability requirements
InspectionDimensional FAI, chemistry/hardness evidence, marking and acceptance method

Pattern is an application variable

Bar and groove geometry can influence refining behavior. It should not be selected from approximate diameter, a photograph or a machine name alone.

Component definition vs process performance

Component-side review

  • Geometry and mounting interface
  • Material and heat-treatment requirement
  • Machining and dimensional inspection
  • Traceability and agreed first-article evidence

Plant/process-side control

  • Final assembly condition and installation
  • Refiner gap and operating settings
  • Steam, feed and process window
  • Fiber and final board performance

Review a rotor/stator project
