Technical qualification

Drawing, Sample and Measurement-Based Refiner Segment Qualification

Different projects start with different evidence. Every path ends with a controlled definition, first-article verification and application-specific acceptance.

Four qualification routes

Path A — Drawing

Use a legally usable controlled drawing with revision, critical dimensions, material and acceptance requirements.

Path B — Sample

Measure a representative sample, while recognizing that worn surfaces may not preserve original pattern geometry.

Path C — Customer specification

Use buyer-controlled non-confidential dimensional and material requirements.

Path D — Machine + verification

Use machine identification only as a starting point, followed by controlled measurement of the actual interface.

Qualification workflow

01

Rights check

Confirm the buyer can legally use the supplied drawing, sample or specification.

02

Definition

Freeze mounting geometry, set arrangement, material and relevant pattern information.

03

Engineering review

Clarify tolerances, inspection, tooling/pattern needs and acceptance criteria.

04

First article

Inspect the first article against the approved definition.

05

Controlled trial

The plant or qualified service owner controls installation, startup and process acceptance.

What is not enough

Maker only, model only, approximate diameter, a generic product photo or a supplier compatibility list should not be treated as production-release evidence.

Public intake vs private qualification

Public form can ask

  • Application and component type
  • Whether drawing/sample/dimensions are available
  • Inspection needs
  • Whether OEM approval is mandatory

Private review can include

  • Specific maker/model
  • Detailed dimensions and revision
  • Exact pattern information
  • Machine and process context

Choose the right starting route

You do not need to publish confidential technical data to begin a preliminary review.
